HIPPY and PAT Family Stories
HIPPY and PAT programs reach families where they are - in their homes and on their terms.
The programs both deliver home-based, parent involved early learning opportunities and provide solutions that strengthen families and help children realize success by beginning school ready to learn.
Colorado's HIPPY programs are all established in communities of need, with over 90% of the 700 families served last year
falling below the federal poverty level, more than half of parents had not completed high school,
and 51% had limited or no English proficiency. 91% of HIPPY families served last year were minorities.
Colorado's PAT programs primarily target the highest need families, though the program model is designed for a universal population. Of the 2,700 Colorado PAT families served last year, 70% of were low-income and 33% had low educational attainment levels. 65% of PAT families served last year were minorities.
